After leaving the volunteer camp, we decided to take us up north towards the town of Tamale and Mole National next portal Park. We took the boat across Lake Volta, the world's largest artificial lake. We therefore went to Akosombos port. The harbor was a bit out of town so we had to take a shared taxi to get there. Once there, we took out times and prices. The boat that goes called the Yapeij Queen and go Sundays, First Class costs 50 cedis (around 200) and second class costs 12 cedis (about 48 SEK). It was good that we went there and checked in for our travel book "Lonely Planet" next portal stands on other days and other prizes. Ghana seems to be a country that changed a lot and quickly.
We checked into a hotel and the next day we took the boat up to Tamale. The trip was somewhat of a disappointment for instead of seeing the wonderful scenery and a sprawling lake, we saw most mist around the boat. Two days later we arrived in Yeji, where we got to check into hotels as the sun began to go down. We took into Alliance Hotel which was close to the port but maybe it was not so on fresh.
The local mode of transport over from Yeji to Makongo was a ferry that was packed full of trucks which then, in turn, was packed full of people. Here it soon broke out trade and the jokes were fresh among resänärerna. next portal Photo: Michael Fjellander
In the morning we took the ferry over to Makongo, and where we managed to get the last seats on a Metro Mass Transit next portal bus, busses in 50's style which, together with the minibuses trotros constitute Ghana's public transport and main means of transportation. When we say managed to get the last places we mean the last places at all. The seats were already taken and places to stand right in time equally so. We got to spend the 5 hour journey sitting with our big backpacking backpack in the stairwell at the doors, a real adventure considering how bumpy roads sometimes next portal can be in Ghana.
If isoldemichael We are two 20 year olds who since graduation in 2011 has prepared a year-long trip in France and West Africa. The idea is to get from Aix-en-Provence along the coast to Ghana with public transport such as bus and train as far as it goes. The first 6 months we spend in France next portal to study French, then we set off on our road trip and expect to reach the African continent at the beginning of January 2013.
