When I first heard that my biggest YouTube tar addiction should be converted into book, I was both excited, confused and skeptical. But no matter how entertaining book is how original the concept is and how wonderful its background history, the question remains the same. The book can not stand alone; it would not make sense for outsiders who have not seen the YouTube series because it leans so strongly of the show action, dialogue and characters. There are important key scenes where Lizzie instead of recounting her experiences insert transcripts of dialogue from her videos, and thus invites the constant comparison between video and book. Although the book contributes nothing new to the series, tar it would not exist without the series. It is not able to.
The book is a lovable gift for any fan of YouTube series, and is both entertaining tar and easy read, one heartwarming tale of love, pride and prejudice, and a crazy intelligent reinterpretation of a wonderful classic.
